Roofers in Beckley
A ridge-top East Sussex village close to the Kent border, within reach of our Tenterden base.
Roofing in Beckley
Beckley sits on high ground above the Rother valley, just over the border from Kent, with views out towards Northiam and the levels below. It's one of the further villages we take on, but the drive out through Newenden makes it a manageable extension of our usual area.
The village has an old core around the church, with outlying farms and cottages scattered across the parish, many with the same kind of plain tile and weatherboard construction found on the Kent side of the border.
Weatherboarded and brick cottages sit near the church, with farmhouses spread across the surrounding ridge and valley land. Plain clay tiles are typical on older roofs, and the elevated position brings a degree of wind exposure.
Local knowledge
Working in Beckley
01
Ridge-top exposure
Beckley's elevated position means roofs can take more wind than villages sheltered in the valley.
02
Further edge of our area
It's one of the more distant villages we cover, so for non-urgent jobs we're honest that scheduling depends on other work nearby.
03
Scattered farms and cottages
Beyond the village core, outlying farms and cottages across the parish also fall within what we'll quote for.

Questions from Beckley homeowners
Do you cover Beckley even though it's across the border in Sussex?
Yes, it's close enough via Newenden to fall within our working area, though it is towards the further edge of it.
Does the ridge-top position affect how roofs wear?
It can. More exposure to wind up here means ridge tiles and verges are worth checking more often than in sheltered villages.
Can you quote for farms outside the main village?
Yes, outlying farms and cottages across the parish are included in what we cover, not just the village centre.
