About this work

Garage roofs are often the most neglected roof on a property, old felt that has been patched for years, or corrugated sheeting that's well past its best. Replacing one is usually a straightforward job that makes the garage dry, usable and considerably tidier.

We replace garage roofs in GRP fibreglass, EPDM or felt for flat roofs, and in tile or slate for pitched roofs, and can convert a tired flat garage roof to pitched where it suits the house.

Our approach

How we go about it.

  1. 01

    Assess the structure

Joists, decking and wall plates are checked. Garage roofs often have minimal structure, so we make sure what's there is sound.

  2. 02

    Remove the old covering safely

Where asbestos-cement sheeting is present we arrange for its safe removal and disposal in accordance with regulations.

  3. 03

    Build the new roof

New decking and falls for flat roofs, or new rafters and battens for pitched, then the covering.

  4. 04

    Finish the edges

New fascias, trims and guttering so the whole roof is complete.

From the trade

Questions we're often asked

Can you deal with an asbestos garage roof?

Yes. Asbestos-cement sheeting is common on garages of a certain age. We arrange for it to be removed and disposed of correctly before the new roof goes on.

Is it worth converting a flat garage roof to pitched?

Sometimes, particularly if the garage is attached and visible. It can improve the look of the house considerably. We'll give you an honest view.
