About this work

Whether it's a new roof over a single-storey extension, a replacement roof structure on an outbuilding, or a complete new covering on a house, the aim is the same: a roof that's structurally right, properly detailed and visually in keeping with what's around it.

We work with your builder or architect where there is one, and directly with you where there isn't.

Our approach

How we go about it.

  1. 01

    Get the structure right

Rafters, ridge, wall plates and ties sized and fixed correctly. Where structural calculations are needed we work with a local engineer.

  2. 02

    Match the house

Tile type, colour, pitch, verge and eaves details chosen so the new roof reads as part of the original building.

  3. 03

    Weather it properly

Lead abutments, valleys and flashings formed and dressed by hand. Ventilation and insulation to current regulations.

  4. 04

    Finish cleanly

Fascias, soffits and guttering fitted to complete the job, so you're not left arranging another trade.

Why experience matters

We've built roofs on to houses of every age in this area. Knowing how a new roof meets an old wall, and what that junction needs to stay dry for decades, is not something you learn from a manual.

We build new roofs across Tenterden, Biddenden, Rolvenden, Staplehurst, Hawkhurst and the surrounding villages.

From the trade

Questions we're often asked

Can you work alongside my builder?

Yes. We regularly work with local builders and architects, taking on the roof element of a wider project.

Do you do the timber work as well as the covering?

Yes. We build the roof structure, cover it and complete the leadwork, fascias and guttering.

What about Building Regulations?

New roofs need to meet current regulations for structure, insulation and ventilation. We build to them and can liaise with Building Control.
