About this work
Sometimes a chimney has gone too far. Bricks are spalling, the stack has developed a lean, or the mortar has gone all the way through. At that point the right answer is to take it down to a sound course, usually around the roofline, and rebuild it.
We rebuild chimneys in matching brick, with new lead flashings, flaunching and pots. Where the original bricks are salvageable we reuse them; where they aren't we source reclaimed bricks that match.
Our approach
How we go about it.
01
Survey and photograph
We assess how far the damage goes and agree with you where the rebuild will start from.
02
Take down carefully
The stack is dismantled to sound brickwork, salvaging bricks and protecting the roof beneath.
03
Rebuild to match
Bond, brick, mortar colour and any original features such as oversailing courses are matched to the original.
04
Weather it
New lead flashings, flaunching and pots, and the surrounding roof made good.

Why experience matters
Rebuilding a chimney is where roofing and brickwork meet, and we've done both for decades. That means the stack is built properly and the roof around it is finished properly by the same people.
Chimney rebuilding across Tenterden, Biddenden, Rolvenden, Headcorn, Benenden and beyond.
