About this work
A good repair starts with an honest look at the roof. Over four decades we've seen a great many roofs around Tenterden, Biddenden and Rolvenden, and most of the time the problem is smaller than the homeowner fears: a handful of slipped tiles, a cracked ridge, a valley that's silted up, or lead that has finally worked loose.
We'll tell you plainly what we find. If a repair will give the roof years more life, that's what we'll recommend. If it's genuinely at the end of its life, we'll say so and explain why, and show you.
Our approach
How we go about it.
01
Look properly
We get up onto the roof rather than guessing from the ground. Where it helps, we photograph the problem so you can see exactly what we're describing.
02
Fix the cause
A leak rarely shows where it starts. We trace it back to the failed detail, flashing, valley, tile, or timber, rather than patching the symptom.
03
Match the materials
Where we can, we reuse or source matching tiles and slates so the repair doesn't stand out. On older Kent properties this matters.
04
Leave it tidy
Debris cleared, gutters checked, scaffold or towers removed promptly. You shouldn't know we were there, apart from the roof no longer leaking.

Why experience matters
Roofs in this part of Kent are a mix of everything: hand-made peg tiles on timber-framed cottages, Victorian slate, inter-war clay, and modern concrete. Knowing how each one is meant to sit, and how each one fails, is what lets us repair it properly rather than making it worse.
We carry out roof repairs across Tenterden, Biddenden, Rolvenden, Cranbrook, Headcorn and the surrounding villages. Being local means we can usually take a look quickly and come back if you ever need us again.
From the trade
Questions we're often asked
Do you charge to come and look at a roof?
No. We'll come out, take a look, and give you a clear written quote. There's no charge and no obligation.
Can you match my old tiles?
Usually, yes. We keep reclaimed tiles and know where to source them locally. Where an exact match isn't possible we'll show you the closest option before starting.
Will you tell me if I actually need a new roof?
Yes, and we'll explain why, with photographs. But in our experience the majority of roofs we're asked to look at can be repaired.
How quickly can you attend a leak?
For active leaks we aim to make the roof watertight as soon as we practically can, then agree the permanent repair with you.
